Receive the BIOS signal from the PlayStation analogue stereo audio output.
What is this?
Back up the 512 KiB BIOS of an original PlayStation you own through its analogue stereo audio output. Capture, demodulation, CRC32 validation and reconstruction all run locally in the browser; BIOS data is never uploaded.
Physical CD-R boot and complete 512 KiB recovery from a real PlayStation have been verified.
Measured result: approximately 240 seconds at 12,108 bps. Gain and audio-interface compatibility are extremely sensitive.
Stereo input is mandatory. Mono capture devices cannot receive the complete transmission.

HOW TO USE
Step-by-step
- Burn the boot CDExtract the ZIP and burn the CUE to a CD-R with software that supports CUE/BIN MODE2/2352. Do not burn the BIN as an ordinary data file.
- Connect stereo audioConnect the PlayStation analogue L/R outputs to a stereo line input or audio interface. Confirm that the capture device exposes two independent channels.
- Prepare the receiver firstOpen the receiver over HTTPS or localhost, press “Start audio input,” and select the stereo device. AGC, noise suppression and echo cancellation are disabled.
- Boot the PlayStationStart the CD-R and follow the console display. Adjust interface gain until both browser meters are in the recommended range without clipping.
- Wait for CRC verificationKeep the tab open and do not change devices. Packet CRC errors may be repaired by FEC; all blocks and the final image CRC32 must pass.
- Save your BIOSThe download button is enabled only after complete verification. Save the resulting 512 KiB file as
ps1-bios.bin.
Important: Use this only to back up a PlayStation you own. If reception fails, reload the page, verify stereo wiring and input levels, then retry from the beginning.
